Executive Director
Zorah Oppenheimer - Executive Director (she/her)

Zorah Oppenheimer joined Clark CD as a Resource Technician and transitioned to District Manager in 2018, and then Executive Director. She has a Bachelor of Science in Natural Resources with an emphasis on Wildlife Ecology and a minor in Fine Art from Washington State University Pullman. Zorah is a second-generation Washingtonian with a love of the wide variety of ecosystems we have here. The shared culture of voluntary stewardship among conservation districts is something she is deeply passionate about, and she genuinely loves her work. In her spare time, Zorah enjoys snuggling with her son and cats by the fire, crafting, photography, gardening, listening to podcasts, and being outside.
District Operations
Shawna Smith - Finance & Operations Director (she/her)

Shawna is a native Washingtonian and has lived in Clark County for over 22 years. She loves seeing the growth in SW Washington and the partnership CCD has within the community. The opportunity to work for CCD is one she finds very rewarding. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration with prior experience as an Assistant Controller and Operations Manager. In her spare time, she enjoys time with her family, taking her dogs Cosmo and Kramer on walks, reading, baking, and relaxing at the Oregon Coast.
Mackenzie Barron-Tai - Grants & Project Manager (she/her)

Mackenzie Barron-Tai grew up in Oregon and is grateful to call the Pacific Northwest home. She received degrees in public health and human development from Oregon State University before continuing on to receive a master of public health and master of social work from Oregon Health & Science University and Portland State University. With a passion for climate and environmental justice, Mackenzie is excited to work with community members and partners to protect our natural resources. In her free time, Mackenzie loves exploring the outdoors (particularly if water is involved) and spending time with her family, friends, and cat, Paisley.
Shelby Wendel - Finance & Operations Assistant (they/them)

Shelby developed a love for native flora and fauna at a young age on many camping trips throughout Washington state. After studying at Western Washington University, they returned to SW Washington with a Bachelor of Arts in Business and Sustainability and a personal mission to preserve the ecosystems that had inspired them early on. Outside of work, Shelby enjoys attending local farmers’ markets and spending time with their adventure kitty, Fern.
Conservation
Samantha Frundle - Conservation Director (she/her)

Sam Frundle relocated to the Pacific Northwest from the Midwest, where she worked as a soil conservationist promoting conservation practices to help reduce excess nutrient runoff from farms. She grew up on a crop and livestock farm and studied Environmental Science and Agronomy at Iowa State University. Sam is passionate about supporting local agriculture and helping residents find solutions that benefit natural resources and the folks who rely on them for their livelihoods. She loves gardening, backpacking, canoeing, baking too many sweets for one household, and daydreaming of having her own acreage with various critters.
Isaiah Wynter - Riparian & GIS Manager (he/him)

Isaiah grew up in Vancouver before relocating to Bellingham for the better part of a decade. While in Bellingham he earned his Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science with a minor in Disaster Risk Reduction, as well as a GIS Certificate from Western Washington University. Professionally he has worked several jobs that focused on salmon habitat recovery, urban riparian restoration and aquatic invasive species management. In his spare time, he enjoys fly fishing, playing guitar with friends, and petting dogs.
Eddie Alto - Natural Resources Technician (he/him)

Eddie Alto grew up and lived across the Midwest before relocating to the Pacific Northwest. While there, he earned his Bachelor of Science in Environmental Sciences, Policy, and Management with minors in Soil Science and Water Science from the University of Minnesota. He worked professionally as a manure management and water quality researcher where he focused on nutrient management, soil health, and agronomy. In his spare time, he enjoys fishing, cooking, camping, and finding new trails to explore in the PNW.
Mackenzie Perry – Natural Resources Technician (she/her)

Mackenzie’s journey began in the deserts of Arizona and Nevada, but she calls the Pacific Northwest her home. A graduate of Washington State University, she earned a degree in Wildlife Ecology and Conservation Sciences, with a minor in Forestry. Outside of work, Mackenzie finds joy in the simple pleasures of life. Whether immersed in a captivating book, exploring serene waters through kayaking, or enjoying the companionship of her dogs, she thrives outdoors. Mackenzie’s dedication to wildlife and natural resources shines through professionally and personally.
Ryan Savaikie – Forester & Community Wildfire Resiliency Lead (he/him)

Ryan Savaikie has called many western states his home prior to settling in the Pacific Northwest. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental Science with an emphasis in Resource Conservation from the University of Montana. Ryan continued his education at Colorado State University, where he is currently working on finishing his Master of Science in Forest Science. In his minimal free time, he enjoys fly fishing, exploring the vibrant Portland-Vancouver food scene, and occasionally climbing stuff.
Outreach
Mary Kinney - Communications & Outreach Manager (she/they)

Mary Kinney is a writer, facilitator, and naturalist. She has worked in communications for over 10 years, taught residencies in the NYC public schools, and is the publicity chair for the Portland chapter of the Native Plant Society of Oregon. Mary is passionate about the Pacific Northwest’s diverse ecosystems, equity in education, and supporting local communities in their quest for a more sustainable future. You can find her birding, working on her backyard habitat, and searching for the best slice of pizza in the Portland-Vancouver area.

Mackenzie Hagedorn has been fortunate to find homes all across the nation, from Florida to California and everywhere in between. She is thrilled to now call the Pacific Northwest home! After earning her master of public affairs, she brings experience in outreach and education from small nonprofits to large county organizations. In her free time, she enjoys fiber arts and spending time with her kitties.
